Scotland,contest,breakdowns and all that jazz…
The second to last BSA British tour event was held at Frazerbrough in Scotland. So i decided to hitch a lift up with Jack and Ed smith for the contest…After a long journey and alot of raidio and a nights sleep in Newcastle we arrived in Frazerbrough two days early. The surf was fun about head high, bit windy but reminded me of my home break Constantine Bay. We surfed it for a couple day and then decided to check a reef further down the coast which had potential,we got there and turned out that it was hideous massive and blown out…But that wasn’t the worst of it Jack went to start his van and it cut out,we called the AA and it turned out that the fuel pump had gone,in short (very expensive). So we go the AA to recover us to the contest site for the time being. The contest was great fun with fun waves…i got knocked out in my pro junior quater final but got 5th over all in my u18s so cant complain. The only problem was that now the contest had finished we wanted to drive up to Thurso east to catch a pumping swell! After alot of banter on persuading they decided to give us a hire car for the trip there and all the way home,so off we set.The first day we arrived was small so we decided to surf brims bowl which was super fun head high little wedgy barrels. Bored of sleeping in the car we decided to check into a youth hostel for the next few nights, and i ended living off take away food because there was one just downstairs hahaha! The next few days were pumping we had brims solid 6foot which i shit myself and thurso 3ft and also the dump head high which id say i had my best barrel! sooo after an event full trip it was well worth it and will definitely be back there again soon Love you Scotland!!!
